Cart4Cause ("we", "our", "us") is an affiliate fundraising platform operated by Cart4Cause ("Company") and accessible at cart4cause.in and via our mobile applications. We connect shoppers with vetted NGOs and charitable organisations, donating a share of every affiliate commission earned from your shopping to your chosen cause.

2. What Data We Collect

We do not collect payment card numbers, CVVs, or any UPI PINs. All shopping transactions happen directly on the merchant's website.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and maintain your account
- To track affiliate commissions and attribute donations to your chosen NGO
- To process payouts to NGOs
- To send transactional notifications (donation confirmations, cashback alerts)
- To send promotional notifications about new deals and offers (only with your permission)
- To verify NGO legitimacy and prevent fraud
- To improve our platform and fix bugs
- To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations
4. Data Sharing
We never sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Cuelinks — our affiliate network partner, to generate tracking links and receive commission reports
- Your chosen NGO — only your name and donation amount are shared with the NGO you select
- Google Firebase — for authentication and push notifications
- Render.com — our cloud hosting provider (data stored in their data centres)
- Legal authorities — only when required by a valid court order or Indian law
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on servers hosted by Render.com. We implement the following security measures:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
- JWT tokens with short expiry (access tokens: 60 minutes)
- Passwords hashed using Django's PBKDF2 algorithm (never stored in plain text)
- Secure token storage on mobile devices (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences)
- Rate limiting on all authentication endpoints to prevent brute-force attacks
- API access controls ensuring users can only access their own data
6. Cookies
Our website uses cookies solely for session management (Django session cookie). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our mobile apps do not use cookies.
7. Push Notifications
Our mobile app may send push notifications for:
- Cashback / commission confirmed alerts
- Donation confirmation to your NGO
- New deals and promotional offers (only if you opt in)
You can disable push notifications at any time from your phone's Settings → Notifications → Cart4Cause.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — update your name, phone, or NGO preference at any time in the app
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing [email protected]
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from promotional notifications at any time
We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
Cart4Cause is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
