1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a secure login experience, and remember user preferences. For Cart4Cause, cookies are specifically essential to track your shopping journey so we can correctly attribute and credit your cashback.

2. Cookies We Use

We use the following types of cookies on the Cart4Cause platform:

  • Session & Authentication Cookies: These are strictly necessary for the operation of our platform. They allow you to securely log in, access your wallet, and navigate the site.
  • Preference Cookies: These functional cookies remember your choices, such as the specific Cause you have selected to follow or support, ensuring a personalized experience across visits.
  • Affiliate Tracking Cookies: These functional cookies are the core of our cashback mechanism. They record when you click an outgoing link to a retailer, allowing the affiliate network to identify Cart4Cause as the source of your visit.

3. Third-Party Cookies

We strictly limit the use of third-party cookies on our platform. The only third-party cookies present are:

  • Affiliate Partner Tracking: Placed by our affiliate networks to track purchases on retailer websites for cashback processing.
  • Google Sign-In: Placed by Google solely to facilitate secure authentication if you choose to log in using your Google account.

No Analytics Tracking:

We respect your privacy under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other intrusive behavioral tracking or advertising cookies on our platform.

4. How Affiliate Tracking Works

When you click on a store link on Cart4Cause, a tracking cookie is dropped on your browser before you are redirected to the retailer's website. This cookie acts as a digital identifier that tells the retailer and the affiliate partner that you were referred by Cart4Cause.

If you make a purchase while this cookie is active, the retailer uses it to attribute the sale to us, enabling them to pay the commission. Once we receive this commission confirmation, we credit the corresponding cashback to your Cart4Cause wallet. Without this tracking cookie, the retailer has no way to associate your purchase with us, and no cashback can be attributed.

5. What Happens if Tracking Fails

Tracking can fail if cookies are blocked, cleared, or disrupted during your shopping session (e.g., by using ad blockers, incognito mode, or switching devices midway). If tracking fails, the retailer will not pay the commission, and consequently, we cannot credit cashback to your account.

Please note: We do not guarantee cashback. If you believe a valid purchase was not tracked, you may submit a Missing Cashback Claim through your account dashboard. We will raise a dispute with the affiliate network on your behalf, but the final decision rests with the retailer.

6. Managing Cookies

You have the right to accept or decline cookies using your web browser settings. Most browsers allow you to manage your cookie preferences, block third-party cookies, or clear existing cookies.

Warning: Because affiliate tracking cookies are essential to our core business model, disabling cookies or using strict anti-tracking browser features (such as Safari's ITP or ad blockers) will prevent us from tracking your purchases and crediting your cashback. Disabling essential cookies will also prevent you from logging into your account.

7. Mobile App Storage

If you use the Cart4Cause mobile application, we do not use traditional browser cookies. Instead, the app uses secure local storage tokens to manage your session and authentication securely on your device.

8. Contact
